Some Facts about Emails:

-Compose,Send/Receive,SMTP, IMAP , POP3, Exchange. Are the most common terms we hear from this topics.

-others are SPAM,Junk,Virus,Nigeria,Iloveyou.

-Millions uses this as primary mode of communication, even the mobile phone has this feature, smart phones are using these,from blackberry to iphone to nokia's E61i to small GPRS enabled mobile devices.

-Webmail used to have 500KB of space in my old days, now it has upto 4GB. Big companies like Yahoo and Gmail are offering even more.

-You can also setup email server under your own domain name.

-I had installed several postfix server.

-I used to have a yahoo mail. but the first one i really have was hotmail. it is because the homepage of most computer rentals back then was the IE default MSN homepage.

-When Google launched Gmail, i got an invite from some of my techie colleagues.

-I like Gmail as it has a very simple interface.And they revolutionized the way mails were managed. I just search woth some keywords to the mail i like to retrieve. Very useful indeed as it is very time saving.

-On Gmail no need to worry about the mailbox getting full as you can see on the http://gmail.google.com/ URL . Terabytes of Storage is counting up and added every tick of a sec.

Email is very important.Whether in corporate or personal use. Multi national companies,financial institutions,banks, etc. has some mail retention policy for mails.

It is a fact that the value of ones email does not really devaluates. So it has to be kept for sometimes. Sabarnes Oxley (SOX)Acts also had a lot to say somethings about financial records as well as email.

Daily at work i received an average of 2000 emails. that is more than 100 mail for my work shifts. Cant read all those at a while . So a good email management is a must.Which is just and F1 away from Outlook.

Email sent to your inbox should be read.Treat it as important as anything else.Especially if this is from your company.

One reason i wrote this is that i had received a forwarded mail with a subject ( please read ) .

Message was actually forwarded for me and one guy forward it to us with a "please Read" caption.

I just found this very dumb. As far as i know all mails are supposed to be read.(excluding the Spam).

This is not a good practice forwarding mails then saying to "please read".

Forwarding mail should be very simple. And make sure the people you forwarded that mail has not receive it yet in most cases.I was included that mail he forwarded as we are in the same mail group.

This is not fine. Well , thanks Gmail for taking care of my valuables emails.
